Indian Chickpea Dahl


Tighten that apron, grab your masala dabbas, and let's dive into a culinary fiesta that'll have you exclaiming, "Namaste, taste buds!"

Ingredients (Feeds up to 4 people):
- 2 8 oz cans chickpeas - drained
- 1 Red Onion - small dice
- 2 Tomatoes - large dice
- 4 T minced garlic
- 4 T minced ginger
- 3 T (tablespoon) Spirits & Spice Ginger Sesame Oil
- 2 T (tablespoon) Spirits & Spice Majestic Majadara Mix
- 2 T (tablespoon) Spirits & Spice Shwarma Spice
- 2 T (tablespoon) Spirits & Spice Vodka Kissed Tomato Spice
- 4-5 T pink Himalayan salt (or to taste)
- 3 T fresh ground black pepper (to taste)
- ½ C carrots - small dice
- 2 C - Water or Vegetable Stock or Beef Stock


1. In saute pan, heat S&S Sesame Ginger Oil over medium-high heat, add onions, garlic, and ginger, w/ 1 T pink salt, and 1 T black pepper. Sauté, stirring intermittently with lid on and off, to golden brown. Reserve

2. In medium stock pot, add chickpeas, 2 C liquid of choice, tomatoes, garlic/ginger/onion mix, carrots, and all seasonings. Lightly simmer with lid on for approximately 1-2 hours until chickpeas have softened and absorbed flavor, stirring intermittently.

Serve over rice, with naan bread, or meat.
