Sassy Balsamic Strawberries

4 pints (8 cups) fresh strawberries, slicked thick

5 Tbs. Spirits & Spice Aceto Balsamico Vintage

2 Tbs. sugar

¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

¼ tsp Spirits & Spice Strawberry Basil Salt

2 pints vanilla ice cream, for serving

Freshly grated lemon zest, for serving

 

Thirty minutes to an hour before serving, combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper in a bowl. Set aside and allow the flavors to mingle.

Place a serving of the strawberries in a bowl with a scoop of ice cream on top and dust lightly with lemon zest.  The leftover liquid is too good to waste.  Grab a spoon and drizzle it over the top.  Also try over pound cake or angle food cake.
